Privacy Policy

ScriptureFirst is operated by Recynt Studyz LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the ScriptureFirst mobile application and website, why we collect it, and how we use and protect it.

By creating an account or using ScriptureFirst, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have any questions, contact us at contact@scripturefirst.app.

Account Information. When you create an account we collect your display name, username, and email address. Faith profile answers provided during onboarding (your purpose for using the app, what you're walking through, phone habits, and what you desire more of) are stored to personalize your experience.

Usage Data. We collect data about your activity within the app: quiz attempts and scores, reading plan progress, streak counts, challenge history, and engagement metrics. This data is associated with your account.

Push Notification Token. With your explicit permission, we store your device's push notification token (provided by Expo) to deliver daily reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in your iOS Settings.

AI Conversations. When you use the “Ask the Word” pastoral AI feature, your messages are transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing. We do not permanently store conversation history on our servers. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of this data.

In-App Purchases. Supporter plan transactions are processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive only your supporter status and user ID — we never see or store payment card details.

Early Access List. If you submit your email on our website, we store it solely to notify you when the app is available and to send early access invitations.

The App Blocker feature uses Apple's FamilyControls framework, which requires your explicit authorization. The selection of apps to block is processed entirely on your device through Apple's operating system. We do not have access to, transmit, or store any information about which apps you choose to block. This data never leaves your device.

We use collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the ScriptureFirst service
• Personalize Scripture content and AI pastoral reflections
• Send daily reminder notifications (with your permission)
• Manage supporter plan status and restore purchases
• Track streak counts, challenge history, and personal stats
• Send launch and update emails to early access list members
• Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers as necessary to operate ScriptureFirst:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication (your account data)
• Anthropic — AI processing of chat messages sent through “Ask the Word”
• RevenueCat — supporter plan management and entitlement verification
• Apple — push notifications and in-app purchase processing
• Vercel — web hosting for this marketing site

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Your account data is stored in Supabase with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring each user can only access their own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow industry-standard security practices, but no system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

We retain your account and usage data for as long as you maintain an active account. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting contact@scripturefirst.app. Early access list email addresses are retained until you request removal.

ScriptureFirst is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at contact@scripturefirst.app and we will promptly delete it.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@scripturefirst.app. We will respond within 30 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of ScriptureFirst after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
